Step 1: Get the oven heating up to 350 degrees (F) so it’s ready when you are.

Step 2: Add the soup mix, eggs, water, and 1/3 cup of ketchup to a large bowl. Whisk all ingredients together until smooth.

Step 3: Add the ground meat and breadcrumbs. Mix them just until combined — Tip: Definitely use your hands here, just don’t over-knead the meat or it will become tough.

Step 4: Shape the meat into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan or on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil — Tip: If you do this on a baking sheet, you’ll get a much better crust.

Step 5: Bake it for about 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until it’s fully cooked. (Start checking after an hour.) Use a meat thermometer to make sure the internal temperature reaches at least 165 degrees (F).

Step 6: While that’s cooking, make the glaze. Get a small pot and mix the 1 cup ketchup, brown sugar, and ground mustard. Warm it on medium heat and stir until the sugar melts.
