Keto Gravy Recipe

I have to be honest, most keto gravy is just sad. It’s either watery or has a weird taste. This keto gravy recipe is the result of me messing up a bunch of times to get it right. The big secret? Just letting the broth simmer with the spices for a few minutes before you do anything else. It deepens the flavor so it tastes like it’s been on the stove for ages. It’s rich, savory, and doesn’t have that fake diet-food vibe. You’ll see.

How I Make This Low Carb Gravy

This whole thing is done in less than ten minutes. It’s super quick.

Step 1: Start the pan

Get your saucepan on medium heat and melt the butter until it’s just starting to bubble.

Step 2: Simmer for flavor

Pour in the broth, add the powders and salt/pepper, and give it a stir. Let it simmer by itself for a good 3-4 minutes. This is when it stops tasting like plain broth and starts tasting like actual gravy. Don’t rush it.

Step 3: Whisk in the thickener

In a small cup or bowl, mix the heavy cream and xanthan gum together. You have to whisk it well so it’s not lumpy. Now, while you’re whisking the broth in the pan with one hand, slowly pour that cream mixture in with the other. This constant motion is what keeps the gravy from clumping up on you.

Step 4: The final touches

Keep it simmering for another minute or so until it looks thick enough for you. It does get a bit thicker as it cools. Always taste it before you serve it. It might need a little more salt. That’s it.
