Cute Spider Crackers

I feel like every Holiday i have these grand plans for amazing themed food… and then life happens. That’s where these Cute Spider Crackers come in. They’ve saved me so many times. You look like the most creative person at the Food, but it took you literally ten minutes to throw them together. No baking, no real mess, just pure spooky fun that kids can actually help with.

The Shopping List (It’s Short!)

You barely need anything for these:

  • A box of round crackers – I use the buttery ones with the scalloped edges.
  • Some cream cheese (or frosting, if you want them sweeter). Let it sit out for a bit to soften up.
  • A bag of thin pretzel sticks.
  • And something small for the eyes. Dried cranberries are what I had, but mini chocolate chips would be great too.

How to Make Them

Step 1: First, break the pretzel sticks in half. Each little spider needs 10 legs, so you’ll need 5 sticks for each one (Or add as many legs as you want to make your spooky crawlers extra creepy.)

Step 2: Take a piece of biscuit and spread a good amount of cream cheese on it. Don’t be shy about adding it—this is what holds everything together.

Step 3: It’s time to make your spider! Gently push four pretzel legs into the cream cheese on one side, and four on the other. Then, place another cookie on top like you’re making a sandwich.

Step 4: Every spider needs eyes! Just put a dry berry on top of the cookie. That’s it! Keep making them until you run out of supplies. You can eat them right away.

My Favorite Party Trick

I’m not kidding, these Cute Spider Crackers get more compliments than some of the complicated desserts I’ve made. People just love them. They’re simple, they’re not overly sweet, and they look adorable on a platter. If you end up making them for a party or just for your family, I’d get a kick out of hearing how it went.
