Let’s Make Some Monsters!
Step 1 First things first, get your oven preheating to 350°F (175°C) and pop some liners into a 12-cup muffin tin.
Step 2 Grab a medium bowl and just whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Easy.
Step 3 In a bigger bowl, whip the softened butter and sugar with a mixer until it looks pale and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla.
Step 4 Now, alternate adding the flour mixture and the milk to the butter mixture. Just mix until it all comes together—overmixing is the enemy of fluffy cupcakes!
Step 5 Spoon the batter into your liners, filling them about two-thirds of the way. Bake ’em for 18-22 minutes. You’ll know they’re done when a toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean. Let them cool down completely.
Step 6 For the frosting, beat the softened butter until it’s creamy. Slowly mix in the powdered sugar, vanilla, and 2 tablespoons of milk. Keep mixing until it’s perfectly smooth. If it’s too thick, add another splash of milk.
Step 7 Time for the fun part! Split the frosting into a few bowls and stir in your food coloring. If you want to know how to decorate monster cupcakes like a pro, a grass piping tip is your best friend—it makes the perfect shaggy monster “fur.” Cover a cupcake, then stick on as many candy eyeballs as you want. One eye, five eyes, go wild!

Seriously, You Have to Make These!
Honestly, these cupcakes are my go-to for monster birthday party ideas or just a fun weekend baking project. The best moment is setting them out and watching everyone, kids and adults, pick out their favorite little monster from the bunch. I really hope you make these Cute Monster Cupcakes. If you do, please let me know how they turned out in the comments!
